ALGARIKON research project as well as ALGARIKON MAR MENOR S.L. participated in events for specific population sectors or general public to inform society about our promising results and our will to implement them in the real world as example of circular economy.
Project leaders and researchers were invited to the Closing ceremony of UAM Master 2023/24 ¨Waste and Wastewater Management for Resource Recovery¨ were the PL was invited speaker and gave a lecture entitled ¨Algarikon, an example of the potential of circular economy: transforming an ecological problem into a profitable solution¨



Algarikon scientists and students participated in the international event to promote Science between children, teenagers and young students called ¨European Researchers Night¨ with a funny activity where attendant have to find out the answer to the question: What do a mushroom and a seahorse have in common?. The answer was ¨that they both like algae¨… algae clumps from Mar Menor.

After describing the scientific outcomes, small children were creating their own key ring or necklace that was a colorful mushroom with plasticine



The national TV journalist were also interested in our activity and showed a few seconds of our ¨algae clumps¨ in the news together with other activities.

Kids loved the activity and their parents also showed interest for the whole Algarikon project
Algarikon´s researchers participated in the ´Science week´ too (a European event carried out to promote science between children and teenagers). They developed their activity inside the CIAL (Institute of Food Science) program ´How do we carry out research on food?´ with the title ´E=mc2 applied to circular economy´. Within the activity the equation was cleared in a funny way describing the solutions proposed by Algarikon project and start up to reduce algae clump accumulation in the Mar Menor seashore.
